CTN - Great job all Ai folks!

We had a huge, hardworking group of students that fully represented the best of MAA and AiCA-SD at the CTN Animation Expo. Both organizers of the event, Tina and Tara told me how great all of you were. Thank you!

We also had a large showing of faculty and students who attended the event. Thank you all for continuing to develop your skills and your contacts within the industry. Like other southern California industry events we are continually recognized and our presence is noted!

Next year let's continue to support this conference with student volunteers and faculty.

Tom and Jacob's visit!

Ask the 50 students who attended last Friday night if the event was worthwhile. It was one of the best events we've ever had! Tom, who currently works at Blizzard  and has interned at Pixar was definitely the more outspoken one. Jacob, who currently works at Dreamworks was the more serious one. But together they laid down some great advice and insight. They were very entertaining and informative. Several of Tom's coworkers came down from Blizzard too. Thanks to all of our guests!

CTN needs MORE volunteers

Send me your qualifications and contact info right away if you want to volunteer! Especially if you have already emailed Tara. here's what Tara says:

Just let them all know that they need to be available ALL 3 days of the event (November 18 - 20th) to be cast for 10-12hrs over 2-3 shifts and are responsible for their own lodging.  The Marriott is filling up quickly so if they plan to stay at the hotel they should make a room reservation quickly.   When not assisting they can enjoy the show :)

Also: any students that have experience with merchandise / credit card transactions would be a plus.

Diagram of open labs

Many of you have found this diagram helpful. It shows the computer labs not being used for classes. Keep in mind a lab might already be reserved for special functions, events, etc.
You may work quietly in any classroom, even if a class is in session.
