Disney's "Tangled" free screening and artist Q&A

I would like to invite students, faculty and alumni from all southern California Art Institutes to this special event. A flyer is being created and approved by Disney WDAS right now but I wanted to get the word out to you. I’m very excited to make this event an enjoyable success for all attendees!

3:15 greeting in UltraStar’s upstairs LuxeLounge with free popcorn and soft drinks
4:15 showing of Disney’s “Tangled”
Q&A with Corey Bolwyn immediately after the film. Corey is a Winter 2008 grad from AiCA-SD. He worked on the film as a Character TD in Cloth and Hair.

PAUL! Comedy film with a CGI alien

From Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, the guys who made Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. It's a comedy with a 3D alient named Paul.

Seth Rogen is the voice of Paul, Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig (SNL), Jason Bateman and Sigourney Weaver are in it.

The alien's facial animation and lipsynch look great!

Release date in March 2011.

Stop Motion student film wins Academy Award!

Three students at the Art Institute in Kansas City have won an Academy Award! Read the article and then decide to outshine them! Form a production team, perhaps register for next quarter's elective in Stop Motion Animation, talk to Lesley Padien and Eric Van Hamersveld for advice.
